There are plenty of indoor security cameras available these days. Many of them rotate, detect movement and allow you to check what’s happening at home from your phone.
I already have indoor cameras like that myself, and I find them really useful.
But when I came across the Furbo Mini 360°, I immediately thought: ‘This is different.’
It’s not simply an indoor security camera that happens to be useful for watching your pets.
It’s a camera that has been designed specifically around pets and their behaviour.
And that’s why I’ve added it to my own Shopping Must-Haves list.
What Makes the Furbo Mini 360° Different?
The biggest difference for me is that Furbo has designed the camera around the things pet owners actually want to know.
A regular indoor camera can tell you that there’s movement in your living room.
But when you’re away from home, what you really want to know might be:
Why is my dog barking?
Where has my cat gone?
What is my pet doing right now?
Have they been unusually active?
That’s where a pet-specific camera becomes much more interesting.
The Furbo Mini 360° is designed to give you a wider view of the room and can track your pet’s movements, rather than simply recording whatever happens to pass in front of a fixed camera.
And because it’s a Mini, it doesn’t take up much space either.
That’s another thing I really like about it.
It’s Surprisingly Affordable
I’ll be honest, when I first came across the Furbo Mini 360°, I expected it to be considerably expensive.
With all the pet-specific technology and smart features, I was expecting something that would feel more like a luxury purchase.
But the price surprised me.
At the time of writing, I’m seeing the Furbo Mini 360° for around $49 on Amazon.com.
And for me, that’s a very reasonable price for a dedicated pet camera.
It’s not an insignificant amount of money, of course, but it’s also not the kind of price that makes me think, ‘That’s far too expensive for a camera.’
In fact, I think the price is one of the things that makes this particularly appealing.
You’re getting a compact device designed specifically for pet monitoring without having to spend hundreds of dollars on another piece of technology for your home.
And because it’s so compact, I could also see the appeal of having more than one.
Just as I already use cameras in different areas of my apartment, you could potentially position more than one of these where your pets spend the most time.
One could cover the living room, another could cover another part of the home, or you could simply have an additional camera if you have a larger space.
For around $49 each, that starts to feel like a very practical option.

Another Thing That Makes it Good Value
There’s another cost I’ve been thinking about when comparing the Furbo Mini 360° with the cameras I already have at home.
With my existing cameras, I haven’t simply had to buy the cameras themselves. I’ve also had to buy an SD card for each one so that they can store recordings. When you have several cameras around your home, those additional costs start to add up.
And even then, I’ve sometimes found the motion-triggered recordings frustrating. The camera might detect movement and create a short recording, but the video doesn’t always capture the full activity. Sometimes I end up with a recording that doesn’t really show me what happened, and if I want to make sure I capture something properly, I have to be watching the camera and record it myself.
That’s another reason I think the Furbo Mini 360° represents good value.
You buy the camera, connect it to power and your internet connection, and then choose the Furbo Nanny plan that suits you. The subscription is what provides the pet-monitoring, recording and AI features.
So when I’m looking at the overall cost, I’m not just thinking:
‘It’s around $49 for a camera.’
I’m thinking:
‘I’m getting a pet-specific camera without having to buy a separate SD card for it, and the ongoing subscription is still reasonably priced.’
For me, that’s a much more attractive proposition.
Especially when I compare it to my own experience of buying multiple cameras, purchasing additional storage for each one, and still occasionally being disappointed by what those cameras actually record.
So yes, I think the Furbo Mini 360° offers a very good value for money.
And I Love The Design
There’s something else about the Furbo Mini 360° that caught my eye: the design.
I really like the simplicity of it.
It’s compact, clean and minimalist, rather than looking like a piece of bulky surveillance equipment sitting in the middle of your home.
I particularly like the light pine-style detail on the top. It adds warmth to what could otherwise be a very technical-looking gadget.
And I think that’s a lovely touch for something that’s going to be sitting in your living space.
For me, that’s important.
If I’m going to have technology permanently visible in my home, I want it to blend into the space rather than dominate it.
The Furbo Mini 360° has that lovely combination of simple, modern design and a natural-looking detail that makes it feel more like a home accessory than a security device.
It’s sleek without being overly complicated.
And I think the compact size and minimalist design work particularly well together.
The Feature That Really Caught My Attention: Barking Alerts
One of my favourite features is the Barking Alert.
And this is exactly the kind of thing that a normal indoor security camera doesn’t necessarily give you.
Imagine you’re away from your home and your dog suddenly hears something outside.
It could be someone walking past your door, a delivery arriving, another dog in the hallway or simply an unfamiliar noise.
Your dog starts barking.
A standard security camera might detect that your dog has moved.
But a pet-focused camera can alert you specifically to the fact that your dog is barking.
That’s a much more useful piece of information.
Instead of receiving a generic:
‘Motion detected.’
you can potentially get:
‘Your dog is barking.’
That gives you a reason to open the camera and see what’s going on.
The Furbo Mini 360° also offers Meowing Alerts, so the system isn’t just designed for dogs.
And although I think barking alerts are particularly useful because dogs can be very reactive to noises outside the home, I can certainly see the appeal of being alerted when your cat is unexpectedly vocal too.
It’s Not Just About Watching
Another thing I like about the Furbo Mini 360° is that it isn’t completely passive.
The camera includes two-way audio, allowing you to speak to your pet while you’re away.
Sometimes your pet might simply need to hear your voice.
And then there’s the feature that I suspect many pets would consider the most important feature of all:
Treat tossing!
The Furbo Mini 360° has a treat-tossing function that allows you to dispense treats remotely.
You can use it as a little reward, as a way of interacting with your pet during the day, or simply to send them a little reminder that their human hasn’t forgotten them.
Of course, treats should always be appropriate for the individual pet and given in moderation.
But I love the idea of being able to interact with your pet rather than simply looking at them through a camera.
And Then There’s the AI Pet Nanny
This is probably the part of the Furbo Mini 360° that I find most interesting.
Furbo offers Furbo Nanny, an AI-powered system designed to provide additional information about your pet and what’s happening in your home.
Depending on the plan and features available, Furbo Nanny can provide things such as activity monitoring, smart alerts, daily summaries, video history and pet-emergency alerts.
So instead of simply checking the camera yourself throughout the day, the system can help bring potentially important activity to your attention.
And that brings me to another feature I really like.
You Can Ask Questions About Your Pet’s Activity
Furbo’s Nanny Chat takes the AI element a step further by allowing you to ask questions about what the camera has observed.
That’s fascinating to me because it changes the idea of a pet camera simply saying:
‘Here’s a video feed.’
to:
‘Here’s information about what my pet has been doing.’
Being able to ask questions about your pet’s activity could potentially help you notice patterns that you might otherwise miss.
Now, I wouldn’t treat an AI system as a replacement for a veterinarian or qualified animal behaviourist.
If your pet is genuinely unwell or showing worrying behaviour, you should always seek appropriate professional advice.
But as a tool for helping an owner observe and understand their pet’s everyday behaviour, I think this is a really interesting development.
What About Cats?
Although Furbo has become particularly well known for its dog-focused features, the Mini 360° is also designed for cats.
And I think the ability to monitor cats could be particularly interesting.
Cats can be surprisingly difficult to keep track of when you’re not at home.
They might spend time sleeping in one room, wandering into another, sitting by the window, playing, eating or getting up to whatever mysterious activity cats decide is necessary that particular day.
Having a camera that can track their movement and provide information about their activity could give owners a much better idea of what their pets actually get up to when nobody is watching.
It Could Be Useful for More Than One Pet
Another feature that caught my attention is the ability to monitor multiple pets.
For households with more than one dog or cat, being able to distinguish between pets and keep track of their activity could make the system much more useful than a basic motion-detection camera.
Again, that’s the distinction I keep coming back to.
This isn’t simply a camera pointed at a room.
It’s designed to provide pet-related information.
And that’s what makes it interesting to me.
Small Enough to Fit Into Your Home
I also like the fact that the Mini 360° is compact.
I’ve never been particularly interested in filling my home with huge pieces of technology.
A camera should be useful without becoming the main feature of the room.
The smaller design makes it easier to position where you need it, whether that’s in your living room, near your pet’s favourite sleeping spot or in another area of your home.
And if you have a larger property or simply want to monitor different areas, having a compact camera also makes the idea of using more than one much more practical.
Yes, There Is a Subscription
There’s one thing I think it’s important to be upfront about before you buy: the Furbo Mini 360° requires a paid Furbo Nanny plan to activate the camera.
The Amazon listing I’m currently looking at shows two options.
The yearly plan is $6.99 per month, with the activation fee waived.
There’s also a monthly option of $29.97 for activation, with the first three months of the subscription included, followed by $9.99 per month.
So yes, you will need to factor in the subscription into the overall cost.
But personally, I don’t find that particularly unreasonable.
I’m already familiar with paying subscriptions for some of my existing home cameras because I want them to record and store video. In my experience, paying for a camera service doesn’t necessarily guarantee that every recording will be perfect, either.
That’s one reason I actually appreciate knowing exactly what I’m paying for.
With Furbo, the subscription isn’t simply something I’d be paying for because I want basic access to a camera. It’s tied to Furbo Nanny pet-monitoring and AI features, which are the things that make this product different from an ordinary indoor camera.
So while I’d definitely want to consider the ongoing cost before buying, I don’t think the subscription makes this product unreasonable.
At around $49 for the camera, plus the annual Nanny plan, I still think it’s a very reasonable option for a pet owner who genuinely wants these features.

Why I’ve Put It On My Own Shopping Must-Haves List
So, would I buy one?
Yes. Absolutely.
It’s now on my own list of things I’d like to have in my home.
I already have indoor cameras, so I don’t need another camera simply for the sake of having another camera.
What makes the Furbo Mini 360° different is that it’s specifically designed for pets.
The barking alerts are particularly appealing to me.
The meowing alerts are a nice addition for cat owners.
The ability to follow your pet around the room is useful.
Being able to talk to them is lovely.
Being able to toss them a little treat is fun.
And then the AI monitoring and Nanny Chat features take it another step further by potentially helping you understand your pet’s activity rather than simply watching it.
And at around $49 on Amazon.com at the time of writing, I think it’s surprisingly good value.
Honestly, I thought it was going to be three times the price.

And for around $49, I think it’s very reasonably priced.
It’s affordable enough to be accessible, compact enough to fit easily into your home, and packed with features that are genuinely relevant to pet owners.

Because sometimes you find a product and think:
‘I didn’t know I needed this…but now I really want one.’
